I’ve been wanted to add a little bit of a personal side to my blog for a while now, but I’m not the most open person. I hate focus and attention being on me. So in a way, I’m hoping that writing about myself on my blog might help me work on that – if I can jot it down for fellow bloggers and internet readers to see, I can voice it to the people I see in the real world, right?
Below is my little list of 10 things, that make me super happy:
I used to be a little bookworm while I was at school, but growing into an adult life got a little in the way, with work and everything else you have to deal with and worry about. So when I do get the chance to read these days, it’s super comforting and really helps me to relax.
2. The sound of rain on windows
I find nothing more comforting than being wrapped up in bed listening to the sound of rain on the window. Knowing that it can’t get to you and you’re all snuggled and warm.
Doesn’t matter who the cuddle is from – friends, family, boyfriend or stranger – in a weird way they make me feel safe.
4. Completing a to-do list
We all have things we want to achieve in life – big goals and aspirations. But sometimes, these things happen by completing lots of little things. And one thing that makes me content, is completing a to-do list.
Autumn in the UK can be so hit and miss, but I love the cooler temperatures and the beautiful colours of nature that come with Autumn. It’s also an excuse to bring out the woolly jumpers and over the knee boots!
6. Cups of tea
How very British of me, ey?!
7. Reaching milestones
I guess everyone has their own way of dealing with life, but I like to take mine a step at a time and work towards milestones. Whether it’s turning a certain age, getting the job I’ve been working towards, or ticking a country off my bucket list – it all adds to my feeling of overall life accomplishment.
8. Candles and fairy lights
If you could see my room, you’d see I have fairy lights and candles everywhere. When I’m feeling down or just want some me time I love to just snuggle up in front of the TV with a couple of candles flickering away, and my fairy lights providing me with a little light for comfort.
I know so many people that hate driving, but I actually really like it. It might surprise you to learn I’m a bit of a car enthusiast, so I quite enjoy driving around whether I’m on my own or with people. If I ever just want some thinking space, I usually hop in my car and go for a half hour driver around.
I don’t know about you, but chocolate can improve my mood by about 200% if I’m grouchy!
