GLOSSYBOX REVIEW – APRIL 2017

This month, the beautiful pink Glossybox has got a kick of spring feeling, with some very floral products alongside some new discoveries.

// Merci Handly Love and Hand Cleansing Gel

After receiving one of Merci’s hand creams a few months ago and falling instantly in love, i’m always excited to receive their products.. and boy am I excited for this one! Yeah I know, a hand gel is just a hand gel – granted. But Merci have added their unique twist, and popped in some moisturising pearly beads to the product, making it a little bit more exciting than your regular hand sanitizer. Dry hands are the bane of my life, and most bacteria gels are a no go for me, but this one is definitely one to change that. It’s the perfect size to shove in your bag or pocket, and at €2.90 (£2.50 at the current conversion rate) I think it is worth the expense.

// ModelCo Contour Stick

I’ve not yet adventured out of the world of powder contouring, so I was somewhat intrigued as well as anxious about this product. ModelCo have put the power of your cheek bones in a compact and twist-able crayon, which really helps to make a comfortable application. I’ve used this a couple of times now, and each time I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to apply and blend out. I’m not yet convinced it will replace my current go-to products, but it is definitely something I will continue to experiment with.

At £8, I don’t think this product is too expensive to just have in your makeup box for those occassions you’re feeling abit daring.

// Rodical Glamolash Mascara XXL

Rodial is not a brand I had heard of before, so I did abit of research into them before trying this mascara (and subsequently also ended up buying half their site). I found the application wand difficult to work with – but I believe that is due to the size of the sample. The wand bristles themselves allowed for a super easy application, and after a couple of layers, the mascara built up to be super thick and really made my eyes pop.

A really good product if you want a false lash effect without the false lashes, though look out for that £24.00 price tag.

// Elgon Deliwash Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash

If you think that 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner is a life saver, then think again. This super-thick cleansing conditioner really surprised me (I know, i know, literally everything ‘surprises’ me). It has the deep clean power of a shampoo, but provides the nourishment and softness of a conditioner. The sample bottle from Glossy seems rather large in comparison to usual sample sizes – but when trying it out I could see why. The formula is so luxuriously thick, that trying to spread it through your hair with hands was a complete chore, and I ended up using more and more to evenly distribute it throughout. On second and third attempts, I found brushing it through with a comb proved to be alot more effective. I’ve really enjoyed using this product – but i’m so addicted to leave-in conditioner that i’m not sure this could wow me enough to leave that behind.

//Sport FX Definition Duo Eyeliner Pencil

As someone who often goes through the whole day without touching up or reapplying my make-up (and sometimes regrets not doing so when eventually looking in the mirror) Sport FX sounded like a brand I could really get along with. I’m not really one to use brown eyeliner – but i’d seen a recommendation somewhere that it worked just as well as a brow pencil, and they weren’t wrong! This pencil filled in my brows just as well as a pencil intended for that purpose, and the application was really easy and precise. It was just as easy for it’s intended use as an eyeliner, and as promised by SportFX it had more willpower than me and stayed on all day.

I’ve seen lots of people were disappointed in this months Glossybox – so whether you loved it or hated it – let me know in the comments!
